Cervo

Cervo

Cervo is a small town of about 1,200 inhabitants located in Liguria, in the province of Imperia.
Cervo is one of the most beautiful resorts of the Riviera dei Fiori and  is renowned mainly for tourism and for the production of olives.
Cervo origins date back to the Roman domination, as attested by some inscriptions found by chance during excavations.
The patron saint, celebrated on June 24th, is St. John the Baptist.

Just beyond Toirano are the spurs of a limestone massif of gray dolomite, in which there are more than 150 natural caves.
 the caves are 1.300 mt. long and their special feature is the wide variety of formations in a succession of 16 rooms, each one unique. The Caves are also famous for the presence of prehistoric findingss: a graveyard of bears and prehistoric adventure mini footprints.

 

Seborga
Seborga

The small town of Seborga is located in the hills of western Liguria on the border with France: the hinterland, between Ospedaletti and Bordighera, and also close to the small towns  of Vallecrosia and Camporosso. Seborga is declared, even today, an independent principality with its own  king, its own laws and even its own currency. It is not recognised by Italy, but while wandering the streets of the country you can still feel the atmosphere of the past meeting the guards of the city police with their picturesque uniforms.

 

Villa Hanbury

The Hanbury Botanical Gardens are located on the Mortola promontory, on the Ligurian coast, a few kilometers from the French border. They occupy an area of 18 hectares.
The view consists of irregular and rustic romantic paths pergolas and patios, with the picturesque view of the sea in the background. The park is also crossed by a stretch of the ancient road Via Julia Augusta; for geography access to the villa it is from its upper side.

 

Museo Oceanografico

The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, one of the most interesting European public aquariums and a part of the modern history of oceanography.
Founded by Prince Albert I, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco also has a wonderful aquarium
famous for the variety and rarity of the species housed. Among the main attractions we can find the spectacle offered by
"Shark Lagoon".
The Oceanographic Museum is open all year!

 

Borgo Parasio

Medieval village with its narrow streets all climbs in offering an incomparable view of the gulf.
It is located near Imperia and Porto Maurizio
Not to be missed also is the charming walk under the "loggias of Santa Chiara".

Sanremo in fiore

The event, which takes place in San Remo, up to 2010 took place the last Sunday of January, while in 2011 takes place in a different Sunday in March. The junta has indeed Municipal decided to move definitively competition of wagons from the last Sunday of January to March, when the cold still gripping the rest of Italy and in the Riviera dei Fiori is already spring.
It is a parade of floats made by the municipalities of the Riviera dei Fiori. A jury and artistic decides each year on the bandwagon.

 

Festa degli agrumi
Citrus festival

Born in Menton in 1934, the Lemon Festival is a unique event which every year takes about 145 tons of citrus. On the Promenade du soleil they are organized parades of floats decorated with citrus, confetti, dancers and folk groups. There are also marching bands, entertainers and fascinating creatures that look like real goddesses. During the festival, the Jardins Biovès are invaded by citrus forming temporary sculptures in dazzling shades of yellow and orange. Some reach up to ten meters in height.
